Nevertheless, civil rights groups -- stung by what they perceive as silence from the Justice Department to several calls for an investigation -- think testimony could prove useful in possible future litigation.

I, too, am amazed that the Justice Dept. didn't do a damn thing. I think there will be a gigantic cover-up.

I read that Gore knew about the voting problem but didn't want to pursue it. There are those who believe Gore took a hit for the country because he didn't want to create further political tension.

The New York Times printed an editorial about him that was called, "The Medal of Honor.".

I can't imagine why the Bush camp has been so critical of Gore. Since the Supreme Court Ruling he has gone out of his way in public appearances to be courteous to the President-elect. Also, Gore stood firm against the black caucus last weekend when Bush got whatever it was that he needed to become President. Evidently, there was a protest which is very unusual that lasted for 20 minutes or so.
