VCD in China. There were 200M TV households, in China, at the end of 1996. That number is expected to double by 2001, to 400M.

Through the first Q, this year, 14M VCD units have been built. Buy the end of 2001, Chinese consumers will have purchased 140M VCD/DVD units. Sales in Tiawan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Korea, and others will be about 35M units.

India is still not taking off. Japan will play the occasional VCD on a DVD player.

Eastern Europe, and Russia, may be places that VCD could take off. But you need local content. That's the problem in India. 50,000 VHS titles. A few VCD titles.
