Strangely as it seems in South Florida (Zone 10) our stuff usually grows better in teh winter cause its a little cooler.. The sun doesn't destroy as much.. Stuff you plant in the summer in Chicago we plant in winter..Sorry but I aminto horiculture..<VBG> As far as the ice and snow melting remember what I taught my kids the first time they went skiing....Don't eat yellow snow..LOL
