I think if you live comfortably you tend to remember the good stuff. If you aren't oppressed you remember the good stuff. I've got girl friends who were sexually abused and THEY don't remember good stuff about the past.

If you've never been victimized or really suffered- and there are people like that- it's probably easier to wax nostalgic.
