LPS5, length ain't what matters ;-) Hey, thanks very much for your erudite answers. Are you experienced as a MM?

As to the points you make -

great info. So it seems that much of the "analysis" is
done offline, manually, for longer-term actions?

Much of the info you cite (e.g. money flow, short interest) is also available publically, though.

Actually I am more interested in how a MM might use
realtime order flow info (derived from book, e.g.
market orders per minute or shorts per minute etc etc.
to help decide how to move price on an intraday
trading basis. I have my own ITCH feed and have been
able to construct some very effective trading algorithms
based on this kind of info... and I'm wondering what
similar things are already out there, perhaps used
by MMs.

For that matter, the follow-on question is whether there
are trading firms out there (NITE for example) that have
programs where they provide the technology and perhaps
capital, and allow folks to run trading programs
for a share of the profits. I'd need a direct connection
to a MM like Knight for better liquidity -
without having to route thru SlowNet,
and low commission cost (say $5/RT) as well as direct
lines to the ECNs, which they already have...
