Remember when polio came every summer and pools closed? Remember when mumps, measles and rubella killed children every year? Remember when we had separate schools, and drinking fountains, and seating in movie theatres? Remember when you could commit a family member to an insane asylum really easily- especially if the person was a wife or child? Remember when retarded people, and people with handicaps were kept in the house? And when people in wheelchairs couldn't get off sidewalks? Remember when cars had no seatbelts and child injuries in auto accidents were horrendous?
Remember the words on the playground? Remember when it was "ok" to call people racial names? Remember when it was ok to make fun of someone who was a different religion? Remember when even adults did that sort of thing in public?

Remember when everyone on your block talked about getting "The Belt"? Remember the kid who always had bruises on the back of his legs?

I like it now. The good old days weren't so good.

I love the way you liberal commie pinkos twist everything around to suit your agenda.

Remember when we took sugar cubes with medicine and before you know it,Polio was wiped out? Remember when you used to march for "rights for all people"? Remember when you stood on the U.S. Capitol steps and were arrested for speaking out against the war in Viet Nam? Remember when a family member could get help in a hospital and not turned away to live on the streets because holding them is against their civil rights? Have you tried the sidewalks lately with a wheelchair? Ain't as easy as you think.

I'm from Central Jersey and we NEVER had anything seperate here. How about black people who call each other "my nigger" today. In those days people respected others.

Remember when a kid would fall down and get a bruise and his teacher would NOT get upset and call the police only to ruin the parents reputation with the Facist left wing tactics of the teachers union?

Yea, I'll take today myself. But since you took my original post completely out of context, either you feel guilty about yourself, or you weren't old enough to enjoy it.
