<The current period of hypergrowth in messaging in the GSM
communitty is to a great degree a result of internet
work interoperability>

Although it is very practical to send SMS messages from the
computer through internet to the operator to the GSM
network, this is not very common among regular users.

It is actually more conveniant to hook up the
handset to the PC and copy or key in the message
on that computer and then send it using the GSM handset
and GSM network, instantly beeping in the GSM pocket of the
GSM recipient.

With bluetooth one doesn't even have to position the
IRD things nor hook up a serial cable, really nice.

One problem is that not one (to my knowledge) PC-program
can handle 2 handsets separately, and especially not
a family of 4 GSM users but one PC and DSL connection.

That is, I don't really understand what internet (nor
the post office) has to do with regular SMS messaging
with emphasize on mobile and instant beep-beep.
(within the human limit of 2-3 seconds, not the
10 minutes normal setups causes a browser to check
for new emails, if constantly connected with DSL or
similar)

Or did you mean the problems of keeping the old
analog AMPS up and running in Verizones network??
(must be a lot of unproductive pain)

Ilmarinen :)
