Sorry, you can get any variation you like certified - as long as it passes muster. In a sense, every installation is a unique variation, since there is no pre-certified version from MSFT or any other vendor. Every installation requires certification.

Also, JC seems to be confusing mundane security against hackers with government certification of a security level - there is simply no relationship between the two.

The problems of certifying a network-connected machine are not unique to Microsoft products but apply to virtually every machine. There are ways to achieve both connectivity and high security (again in the government sense, not the common notion) but they are expensive to create and maintain. Again, those solutions apply to the range of networked machines, not just to Microsoft products.
