Shouldn't it go without saying that there is no such thing as safe anything, including drinking water, crossing the street, and childbirth!
But here's a suggestive statistic. It's an old one, but it makes the point. I was in the Sept/Oct issue of Hippocrates Magazine in 1989.
Number of Mexican women each year who have abortions, all of which are ILLEGAL: 1.5 million
Number who die of complications: 140,000
Number of American women each year who have abortions, most of which are LEGAL: 1.6 million.
Number who die of complications: 6
