Some of the OTCBB proponents claim that MSFT was at one time a penny stock because they look at a 10 year chart and see that it was trading for less than a dollar. But the reality of the matter was that the chart adjusts for splits, not the actual trading price. chart.yahoo.com One of the reasons the BB/pinks trade is that in numerous cases these companies were Ch 7, the stock's trading was stopped, then a few months later the previous officers "buy" a new company and the shares magically start trading again. Call 'em shells, pump and dumps, or a myriad of other titles, but the bottom line is that the SEC's hands are full enough without having to investigate every flea bag BB stock.
