grinder965,

<< "I understand GPRS isn't going so well...." <LOL> >>

It appears that is the case.

Handset availability and integration testing (and perhaps immature release in the case of Sonera) seems to be the issue.

This is rather typical of new technology or generation change. handsets lag. They sure did in the US in 1996, QUALCOMM solved that.

However, we do have reasonable feedback on BT Cellnet which launched last June:

Also GPRS has a new multi-mode WAP 1.2 handset (useable in 160+ countries on GSM or when available GPRS) coming on board VERY shortly from Ericsson:

Samsung has the sexy & fast Q100 4+2 dual-band coming this quarter as well also.

In addition over 25 GPRS networks are commercially installed, and are either live or testing:

Another 35 are on order.

How is the single installed and launched 1xRTT commercial network (SKT) doing?

What is "typical user" throughput currently on this net with 1xRTT technology?

<< wait until we have our first significant defection from a GSM/W-CDMA operator in Europe >>

When do you expect that?

Now here is my bottom line question to you:

- Can you back up anything you say with something that enriches this thread ... or are you just cheerleading?

If you are just cheerleading ... PLEASE reread the thread header.

On this thread, which you do not visit often, we talk about matters that concern QUALCOMM.

Your inputs are valuable

Thank You.
