Combo TV saves programs in VCD format

Mainland China—Konka Group Co. Ltd has developed the VDT29 combination digital TV, DVD player and DVR, which can record TV programs onto CD-R and CD-RW discs in SVCD or VCD format. The model also plays CDs, VCDs and DVDs.

The PC-compatible VDT29 supports PAL, SECAM, 4.43NTSC and 3.58NTSC standards and receives CATV signals. The model has a 100Hz field frequency and a 640 by 480-line resolution.

The 100-channel model uses a 740mm mirror-precise picture tube and a digital comb filter, as well as double-field transforming technology to eliminate large area flicker. Other features include dynamic black level extension, digital picture noise removal, a still picture function and surround sound effect.

The TV has three-way A/V inputs, two S-video inputs and a 15-pin VGA interface. Each unit comes with a full-function remote control.

The VDT29's maximum power consumption is 200W, and it runs on 180V AC to 250V AC at a frequency of 50Hz to 60Hz. The model measures 700 by 600 by 700mm, and weighs 60kg.
