Jeff: Although my impression is that Gistaro is doing a decent job (remember I defended his reticence to respond during the y2K rumors in Dec./Jan.), the fact that a CEO responds to an individual investor means very little. I've often read in SI threads how happy investors are to actually talk the boss. One must consider the converse: what in bleeps name is the CEO doing spending time writing a letter to a insignificant shareholder (don't take that personally, I mean it in the generic sense) rather than doing absolutely everything for his company? And what's Tamara Echlin's job anyway (the DOCU IR in the PR firm hired by the Company)?

Recent experience has taught me that when I read posts like yours little red flags begin to wave. You may be aware that I purchased GIFS last fall and sold in December; during this time I started a thread (Is GIFS a little too SEXI?) where one of my major complaints was the willingness of the CEO to speak with numerous individual investors. The CEO is now traveling the backroads of South America as a fugitive from the FBI, SEC, and some formally charmed investors (all true).

I'm not yet dumping on DOCU; god knows, I've defended this Co. through thick and (lots of) thin. However, if I sense any intensification of stock promotion from the upper echelons of management, I'm history. Don't buy the fluff.
