Any comments on gold? HM chart looks good. With the fed adding liquidity and the economy possibly stronger than some suspect, I think inflation may appear in a relative sense. It is my feeling that Greenspan lowered rates in large part to help out California utilities (a la LTCM) rather than to combat incipient slowdown. This certainly puts him/us in a bind. Lowering rates may lead to a falling dollar, and if the economy isn't really doing all that bad then the combination could result in inflation, hence the HM chart.
I also agree with the thought that AG wants to keep the Naz up, say around 3000 or more, as without a strong sector, much of the productivity we have depended on is out the window. There are examples all over the place of tech companies delaying roll outs of newer, faster, better, and this alone can also lead to further inflation as it removes the deflationary pressures on existing products.
I think gold bears watching and I would appreciate any input from guys like bobby b who keep an eye on it.
