DDI, recently ADVC released a statement:

"The company believes its technology will by-pass 80% - 90% of Qualcomm's CDMA patents. Perhaps most importantly, successful patent filings may inhibit the global implementation of Qualcomms' WCDMA on an SDR platform."

Two questions come to mind:
1. Of the 1100+ patents by QCOM, how many would be needed to operate a system in the first place? 100? 200? If 200 patents were needed of the 1100 patents by QCOM, this would amount to 80% of the patents being bypassed...will SpectruCell really need that many of QCOM's patents?

2. For the SDR platform, what air interface would be utilized? Doesn't QCOM control the CDMA air interface IPR?

Thanks for clearing up these questions, when you have a moment.
Regards,
Martin Thomas
