I understand your point. Greenspan can print as much money as he wants to, but if it doesn't get spent on stocks it won't do the market any good. However, lots of that money sloshing around has gone into bonds. All that needs to happen now is some aggressive easing and then some of that money sloshing around can find it's way back into the equity markets, because bonds won't be as attractive. Greenspan is doing fine running the printing presses, now he just needs to give the markets the psychological boost of interest rate cuts.
