Im not sure what Maxtor HD is but you nailed the boot message.

The drive reads out FAT 32 and as I understand it you have to have a partitioned hard drive to run this file system.

When I was originally doing this 2 weeks ago I made the correct selections to partition the drive but allowed the recovery disk yesterday to do it all on auto pilot, it confirmed a format.

Thanks for that link, Ill study it today.
