FDISK is more dangerous than DELETE *.*
Mistakes using FDISK are unforgiving.
I prefer Partition Magic 6.

I remember a potential serious problem. Using 2 hard drives in my computer, the second HD (D:) holds all backup images and data from C: drive.
Something when haywire when restoring and image (this bug has been fixed in new versions of Drive Image)
I lost the C: partition when trying to restore an image. The computer said I just had C: drive, so I went to format this, and stopped when I noticed the drive was twice the size as my real C: drive.
C: is 10GB and D: is 20GB
I then did a DIR and noticed that was my back up hard drive, the computer was calling this C:, I almost formatted the HD losing all my data, as I was going to do a clean install of Windows, I forgot to create boot disks for Drive Image. (3.5 Floppies are hard to find at my place)
Unplugged data cable and power for D: drive from the system, and proceeded to FDISK the original C: drive, then install Windows.
Long story short, weird things can happen, and you can loose ALL your data, BE CAREFUL. |
