Wen Ho Lee incident is a side show, a public distraction to Clinton scandal,
Well, I'm not saying that the Lee incident wasn't hyped up in the press in order to embarrass the Clinton administration. I was just commenting on degree of security violation.
It's one thing to be arrogant and stupid enough to do your classified work on an unclassified personal computer at home, and quite another to deliberately access and copy volumes of data from a classified system.
Both deserve to lose their clearances, but only Lee attempted to hide his activities and refuse to turn over the tapes or tell officials where they were.
Additionally, Lee had several meetings with Chinese officials/scientists while traveling in China, but he failed to write a "contact report", as required by regulation. This created a considerable cloud of doubt about Lee since DOE already suspected that they had a spy in their labs.
As for Colin Powell, I would have voted for him over Clinton anyday of the year. But the public word was that his wife had qualms about his running, either out of fear, or unwillingness to lose her privacy.
Why ?
Uh... maybe because they all have historical animosity towards each other?
I mean.. why ask why? They don't like each other and have little reason to treat each other fairly and equitably...
Thus, since this is the argument that blacks make against Whites (that we don't like them and are plotting to "hold them down") in support of affirmative action, why not extend the logic to every race, creed, and religion?
Again, affirmative action is there as the legal "hammer" to be applied in instances where segregationalist and discriminatory policies remain blatantly evident and institutionalized.
