Tom, I am very puzzled by this story. I live in Queens, and the local cable operator, Time-Warner cable, provides excellent high speed cable modem service--it is called "Roadrunner."

I have no idea whether this is also available to the rich doctor in Scarsdale, although DSL service is available in Scarsdale through Westnet. westnet.com
