Very interesting article, Dan! So approximately 93% of the general population vs. 7% of the polled members of the NAS believe in a "personal God".

I have to say though, that I'd like to know how many of the scientists have a more fuzzy view, ie, believe in a supreme being or force that is a benign and organizing factor. Or other shades of agnosticism.

This is the biggest, most recurring argument my husband and I have. I, trained a psychologist, believe in God and feel stroingly about people's need to tailor their belief in ways that help them explain and cope with their life experiences. My philosopher husband is an atheist.
