The predictive text system is pretty good, I've fixed
some regular problems I have both in english and the
second domestic language of Finland.
That is, one doesn't need to have that much problems
with one key and 3-4 characters uing the predictive
system.
Voice-to-text was a dream in the early 80s, and still
seem to be a dream, human voice and capabilty to
produce and understand it, dialects,etc is
still, IMO, far away.
On one level I rather hope teenagers correct their spelling
just like every teenager in Finland now knows the
melodies, names of all the original ring tone melodies
Nokia introduced, the greatest improvement in finnish
music education in history.
Additionally I'm happy that Nokia keeps the price of the
kid models as low as possible, separating the yuppie
and kid market, as well as features like having a
max on the monthly bill, getting SMS messages
on how much money is left for this month,etc.
And basically that age is when one should build and
experience social and other relations, when there
still is some adults around having some insight and
responsibilty. Also avoids some of the later maybe more
destructive adult crises at certain ages, less need to
become 18 once again (basic finnish, traditional
"morality").
But I surely hope that some variant of Survivor isn't
introduced for SMS messages, nor others where the
basic mechanism is to have a good excuse to turn off
all growing neurons and still not feel too bad or bored
about it.
And when they are figured out and produced, I hope
someone else figures out something more productive
and interesting ("fun" at that age)

when every day life is tough and little improvements
seem possible in the future, probably lowers
