I don't think we've ever gone through all the reasons- except maybe in your imagination. You don't have to like someone to hope they have a Happy New Year. In fact since awful people frequently take out their problems on other people, one really ought to wish the most awful people the best year. Really nice people deal as well with bad years as with happy years. Or at least that's what I always think. Truth is never ugly- imo- it simply is. But then we have a different world view and always have done. Yours doesn't seem to bring you joy, but I hope I am wrong about that.
