Ashcroft is being picked for U.S. Attorney General, not U.S. Pope... the guy is more than qualified for the job, any other information about him is truly irrelevant to his selection... if he's also opposed to Affirmative Action, then I applaud him even more, Affirmative Action should be abolished immediately... Ashcroft is only being selected for a Cabinet post, nothing more than that... his record on law enforcement is impeccable... I also agree with his decision not to choose that judge for the federal bench, it was certainly well within the scope of Ashcroft's responsibilities to make a determination about that judge, and he decided he should not be granted that position... so what? Maybe Ashcroft should not be appointed U.S. Attorney General because he doesn't like the Miami Dolphins... after all, let's not get nutty already with irrelevant issues.....
