It is the kind of self conscious, maudlin, self important pain that I think very low class. It is the kind of pain that says (very very loudly) Oh I am SO SO SO sad, and cries public tears- the kind of pain that vanishes when there is not an audience to behold it

hardly, I simply wanted you to know your continual harsh comments about Edwarda hurt. it is obvious you took it as a criticism and became defensive

My annoyance with said canonization seems only to hurt people who basically annoy or disgust me anyway

I have no clue who disgust and annoys you, but unless it is an extremely large number of people, your comments are hurting people, for Edwarda had many people on SI who did care about her

you have no clue who my friends are. you're making a lot of assumptions here, wrong ones

I'd say you have the meaning of 'no gloves' down pat. I don't argue on SI with anyone and I'm not going to with you. I wanted you to know the unkind things that you are saying about a woman who tragically and suddenly died does hurt the people who did care about her.
