Project in Milan Marks First Deployment in Italy
HERZLIYA, Israel, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Optibase (Nasdaq: OBAS - news) a leader in broadband streaming media solutions today announced that its streaming media gateway, the MGW 2000, has been selected for integration into the e.Biscom project for broadband video services currently being deployed across Italy.

e.Biscom SpA (Milan's Nuovo Mercato: EBI), which delivers broadband multimedia services to the home, has selected the Optibase Media Gateway solution for enabling on-demand entertainment, Interactive TV, Internet browsing and other enhanced video services. e.Biscom is currently laying a high capacity fiber network natively based on the Internet Protocol (IP) in order to reach more than 500 urban centers in Italy, a major percentage of which with more than 100,000 inhabitants.

The Optibase MGW 2000 is a multi-channel media gateway with an embedded operating system that is capable of encoding and transmitting 16 live and pre-recorded streams simultaneously, including up to six in real time, and delivering full-screen, full-motion, high quality video.
