I can't either, and I think it's wonderful that you two have such a great relationship. In my mind, it's terrible to violate a relationship, but a relationship is not the same thing as a marriage. There are lots of relationships just as wonderful where the couple is not married. And there are lots of marriages where there is no real relationship but for some reason the couple stays married.

I don't have a problem with adultery in a marriage where there is no relationship as long as the parties follow Poet's caveats. In my mind, it's the violation of trust and commitment that is important, not the institution of marriage.
