<< More importantly with rumors of corporate and consumer market rebounds, will MSFT guide for better times ahead? >>

IMO, MSFT will not 'guide for better times ahead', near term. The economy is still at risk of slowing. They will lean further towards conservative guidance until that changes for the better. I totally disagree (with Dave) that MSFT guidance is unreliable. They have been consistently conservative and consistently accurate for the past 15 years.

<< Is MSFT advancing August employee option payments by 6 months because it thinks stock could rally to new highs ahead of Whistler and new office, X-box release? >>

I don't think MSFT is expecting their stock to 'rally to new highs' any time soon. I do think that they are trying to reward employees with options at today's attractive prices. Yes, I do think that MSFT feels today's prices are attractive from a long term perspective. I totally disagree (with Dave) that this only benefits older hirers. That makes no sense from any kind of mathematical or logical perspective.
