Thank you for joining, Carolyn!! You are correct about our diverse environments.....this will be very educational.

I discovered the newest thing in Finch feeders at Walmart yesterday. It is called a Sock Feeder and holds the tiny thistle seed that they love. You tie it from a limb and the Finches attach to the "sock" and help themselves to the seed. The "sock" is made of a fine mesh that makes it easy for them to grasp.

I've been watching them from my kitchen window and they actually go from the nearby hanging house feeder to the "sock" as if they prefer it! Really cool and the best thing of all.....it was only $3!!
