I witnessed the crowd and I heard the members of the Miami Dade Board when they made the decision to stop counting. Only a true dimwit would be intimidated by the smiling faces of the mob banging on the door. The members of the board all concluded that they did not have time or the resources to complete the count and they also knew there were no votes but needed an excuse to get the dumb democrat's of Gore from pestering them. The laws were in place and GORE and the Florida Supreme Court tried to use a selective recount. To me the clear interpretation of the law was that unless fraud or equipment failure occurred no manual recount was required. Now Florida has a 3 plus million dollar bill to pay for recounts the would not have changed anything. And in that Clinton and Gore I have caught in a dozen lies and the morality of the democrat's sees no problem in the use of the naacp and any black nazis like propaganda they wish to spew I can immediately see ass a reasonable precaution to assume the the democrat's are willing to cheat. The domcrat's abort the law and delay the certification. The democrat's proactivly attempt to make certain that absentee ballots don't get counted. The democrat's want only a selective recount and this is just plain intellectually dishonest. The Republican position was follow the law. The laws of Florida and the systems in place showed President Bush Won, Gore lost. All the twisting sophistry and twisting of the law to recount will change the results unless fraud is introduced to assist Gore. As an engineer who has designed interfaces to prevent human from being so ingeniously stupid and having first hand user knowledge of punched card machines.
