Cooperative Development and Marketing Efforts Will Provide
Customers with Optimized Software and Networked Storage
Environments for Collaborative Product Commerce
HOPKINTON and WALTHAM, Mass., Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC), the world leader in information storage, and PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), the product development company(TM), today announced an alliance designed to provide customers with integrated collaborative product commerce (CPC) solutions using both companies' leading technology. As part of the alliance, PTC has joined the EMC E-Infostructure Developers Program(TM) and EMC will become a PTC Enterprise Platform Partner.

The alliance includes technical and marketing initiatives to optimize and integrate EMC's leading storage systems and software with PTC's leading CPC software. CPC solutions, including computer aided design (CAD) and collaborative product development applications, are enhanced by highly reliable, scalable and high performing networked storage systems to facilitate the movement, sharing and management of large files from multiple systems. PTC and EMC already work closely, with each company deploying the other's products in strategic areas within their respective organizations.

The alliance will leverage EMC's industry leading Symmetrix(R) Enterprise Storage systems and software, EMC Celerra(TM) File Server and CLARiiON(R) IP4700 Network Attached Storage system as well as PTC's industry leading CPC and product development solutions including Pro/ENGINEER and Windchill. Each company will sell and service their respective products.
