Well someone else said they froze a frame on the video of the intro event and counted 148 die sites. At theoretical model based on the die size predicts 145 (as I am sure you are aware). If I use 118 sites, then I'll insist on using a more reasonable defect density (closer to .5-6 defects/cm2) and I'll end up with the same number. I've heard people who should know mention that AMD accounts for their wafer cost at less than $2000 per wafer. The point is that there are a lot of variables, but there is nothing unreasonable about an estimate of $80 for the cost of K6. We'll get a pretty good feel for the real number on July 14. Do you really believe K6 costs more than $80 or are you just differing for the fun of it?
