Hallmark Selects Ariba B2B Commerce Platform for Procurement Savings and Efficiencies
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Jan 16, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Ariba, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARBA chart, msgs), the leading business-to-business (B2B) eCommerce platform and network services provider, today announced that Hallmark Cards, Inc. has selected the Ariba(R) B2B Commerce Platform(TM) to manage its global procurement process.

Hallmark will use Ariba(R) Buyer(TM) 7.0, the latest version of the leading Ariba solution, to streamline purchasing of products and services, such as office supplies and travel, for its corporate offices, manufacturing plants, and subsidiaries worldwide. With Ariba Buyer, Hallmark can electronically collect, route and process purchasing requests from employee desktops and direct spending to preferred suppliers and B2B marketplaces, resulting in significant time and cost savings.

Phase one of the Ariba solution deployment at Hallmark is expected to be completed by second quarter 2001, and will include users spanning six sites.
