I know what you mean. I can't roll play at all. I get positively catatonic at the prospect of a roll-play exercise at a training session let alone developing another whole persona for SI.

When I was a kid I covered up my insecurities by exaggeration and lying. By the time I was in college I had built up such a web that I no longer could keep track of whom I had told what. So I went cold turkey and let it all hang out. Funny thing, the insecurities went away. I've just been me 24/7 ever since. I don't recommend it for everyone, but it works for me. Charades may be fun for others, but they're a lot of work.
