Hi Puck,

You are doing a great job with the thread - congrats!

A few questions re mobile internet.

Will the operators will need to build substantial server capabilities to handle this type of traffic or will they be able to use systems already in place and perhaps not even owned by them? I imagine they will encourage an ecology of service providers (who will need their own servers) to use the operator's systems but won't the operators want to provide their own services for which they will need their own servers? Clearly the reason I am asking is because this would provide another boom to companies like Sun if the mobile internet requires as much infrastructure as the fixed internet.

Who makes the Bluetooth chips for Nokia?

It may not seem like the best investing climate right now but I figure that if I want to build a portfolio that will take advantage of GPRS (and 3G when it arrives) then now is a good time to start. Here are my thoughts:

Nokia for handsets (no concerns but vigilant).
ERICY for infrastructure (concerned about 3G delays and vendor financing for the enormous sums the operators paid for licenses).
SUNW for servers (high valuation).
I have some PALM shares from when it was spun off from COMS.

Considering MOT and LU for turnaround potential.
Considering Bluetooth chipmakers since every device will need one.

This is just a start (and I have left the CDMA world for another time). You thoughts appreciated.
