Horses are big animals and have hurt many people. I knew a fellow who had to quit riding after two broken backs. He moved to Colorado and is now raising horses. The mare we are keeping is a dressage horse. I put out 5 piles of hay and she keeps kicking the gelding until she decides which pile she wants to start on. I prefer my snails and my maggots that I have in my room. They don't kick.
