Chambers told leaders of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) that Cisco had said during the Asian economic crisis last decade that it would in fact gain from that slowdown.

Jack Walsh of General Electric said exactly the same thing about his company. Two CEOs of market-dominating companies with such pristine reputations as business managers saying the same thing lends more than a little credibility to their statements. The stuff that they're talking about is why I continue investing and sticking with my market-leading companies through periods of slower growth and recessions. Recessions will always play into the hands of the Gorillas while the chimps will always be left to picking up the scraps when the good times return.
