John: Lots of street talk on VIAS. Rumors of a large government contract keep popping up. Also, a large bank.

With the Y2K frenzy in full speed, I wouldn't be surprised to see an outstanding quarterly report (VIAS' 4th quarter) ... which makes the annual report a major improvement over last year's.

Another rumor is that a split is in the cards for late this calendar year.

So, there are lots of rumors ... unfortunately, none substantiated by VIAS. I'm not too concerned about the officers' selling their low cost basis stock. I would, too, if I had a 90% or more profit per share. Lock in all that profit, then buy back in if I felt the stock was still going up. Too bad I don't have that problem to concern myself with. If they need volunteers ...

With lots of revenue, the secondary offering doesn't seem necessary at this time. Of course, that's assuming that the unsubstantiated rumors are correct. Typically, rumors are about 25% true. So, maybe instead of a "gargantuan" government contract, it's just a "really big" one. Same for the bank, and other non-announced contracts.

But, who's to say that the contracts are for software licenses, which typically has upfront revenue recognition. Could be a services contract, which is a "pay as you go" deal, in which case VIAS' burn rate comes into play big time.

What I'd give for a crystal ball ....

Whatever happens ... it's an interesting time to be alive ...

Regards,
