They are trying not to violate FD. But the wording of the pr sets the stage for them to say something by saying nothing.

Analyst: "You said you might meet with us, so here we are. Do you stick to your initial guidance?"
INTC:"We can't say unless we tell everybody, fair disclosure and all."
Analyst: "OK, so you're going to make the numbers, right?"
INTC: "Don't press me on this, you bastard, or I'll have to do a pr."
Analyst: (smile) "Thanks, we're glad you're so forthcoming. Drop by our place for some brandy next time you feeling so tight lipped."

Or, looked at it from jpq's side.

JPQ "What do you think about INTC's q?"
CNBC..."So and So analyst just met with INTC and they didn't change their initial guidance. And the 2nd half should be *fantastic*"

I'm not saying that this is what INTC will do, but they've gone out of their way to make this a possibility.
