In general, since Max Pain implies manipulation I consider if there might be some countervailing manipulation - e.g. ARBA has a much higher Max Pain than its current value. Its recent positive earnings was greeted with five downgrades. That raises a flag for me.

What is that flag telling you?
I'm not sure I follow.

Is it that the institutions are trying to Buy ARBA below the Max Pain only to let it run up just before Friday's close?
Or do you mean something else?
