I enjoyed my visits, and the seamen, they were
regular guys, & not as brain washed as
our press would have us think.
I felt some sympathy for them as the living
quarters & conditions were not up to speed
but still a lot better than some other foreign
ships I went on.
----------------------------
I think the most "rigid" standards and most
brain washed seamen ( relatively speaking )
that I ran into were the Japanese.
But for the most part they were not real bad,
Then again the nature of being seaman
is prone to "open ones eys" to the
world.
There is no right or best political system
for "all" people.
What will work in one place would
destroy another.
