PIII therapeutic vaccine - From VICL web site. <<Based on this promising data, and following discussions with the FDA, we began registration trials in May 1998. These trials are ongoing in multiple centers across the United States. In our Phase II trial we are actively recruiting patients with soft-tissue metastatic melanoma who have exhausted conventional therapies. For our Phase III trial we are actively recruiting patients that have metastatic melanoma and who have not received chemotherapy. The objective of this trial is to compare treatment with dacarbazine, the only chemotherapeutic agent approved by the FDA for metastatic melanoma, to treatment with a combination of dacarbazine plus Allovectin-7®. Positive results from either or both of these trials could allow us to apply to the FDA for approval to market Allovectin-7®.
