Juniper reported revenues of $295 million for this past quarter, which ran from October 1 to December 31. It's probably not presumptuous to assume that their revenues from late October to late January, Cisco's reporting period, will be well over $300 million. Even after factoring the higher ASPs that Juniper's products carry, one can assume that this is probably over $225 million in revenues that Cisco would've had if it still had that 98% market share number in the core routing market. Just something to keep in mind should Chambers start complaining in the February 6 CC about how "a slowdown in customer spending" is forcing Cisco to lower its forward guidance.

Also, I just finished listening to Applied Micro's CC. They mentioned how their MMC division is seeing a slowdown in demand from Cisco's Arrowpoint division. When coupled with Foundry's earnings warning, it appears that Nortel's Alteon division is completely annihilating the competition in the internet data center switch market thanks to the performance advantage offered by its products.
