MONTREAL, QUEBEC--JANUARY 16, 2001 - 11:41 EST
Quebecor World Veteran Mark Jones takes the helm at NURUN USA
NURUN inc., a leading global network providing e-business strategies, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Mark Jones as President of NURUN USA. This newly-created position marks an important phase in NURUN's strategic ascent into the U.S. e-services market and a milestone in the company's successful global growth course. Mr. Jones will preside over a network of U.S. offices, including Chicago, Seattle and Charlotte, North Carolina.
A proven corporate leader, Mr. Jones draws on an extensive background within Quebecor World (NYSE, TSE: IQW), the global arm of NURUN's parent company, Quebecor, and the world's largest commercial printer. Mr. Jones will focus on bringing NURUN's Web integration services and Automated Publishing Solutions (APS) to the U.S. market, specifically to Quebecor World and its blue chip clients. These companies will benefit from the talents, the tools and services available through NURUN to establish comprehensive cross-media agility.
"Mr. Jones will play a central role in both the strategic development of our growing U.S. operation and in leveraging the synergy between this unique family of companies" said NURUN CEO Mr. Jacques-Hervé Roubert. "His track record, leadership style and strong relationships within Quebecor World and Que-Net Media, make him the perfect point person in this growing global network, for which the U.S. will play an increasingly important role."
"This is a strategy which I'm excited to be a part of, and one that I believe will add real value in the marketplace", said Mr. Mark Jones, President of NURUN USA. "We know that the Internet business is just another business, and the Web just another channel, but they also hold tremendous untapped potential. This will be the year where back-end integration coupled with elegant delivery both on and offline will distinguish those companies that can harness the power of the Internet to improve revenues, reduce cycle time and operate more efficiently. The unique combination of NURUN's world-class e-services network, the power of Quebecor World and Que-Net Media's communications services along with some of the world's top blue chip customers, gives NURUN a distinct advantage coming into the US Market this quarter".
Mr. Jones' first initiative as President was to promote former NURUN regional GM, Bob Schneider to Vice President of U.S. sales. Mr. Schneider's mandate includes building a top-level sales team to drive new business to the company's eight North American offices including New York, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City. Supporting Mr. Schneider with Strategic Analysis and Project Management will be Matthew Hardesty covering the west coast. We will be rapidly acquiring business development talents in the US.
