The subject of writable CD ROM is not entirely a straight comparison of convenience and speed, there is an advantage in burning a CD, you can carry it anywhere you go, and it is readable by any CD ROM I have seen, and I have seen many. the additional feature, where you can re-write the new CD media, is a great backup bonus to an already very useful device. One can master his own CDs, copy other CDs as a backup, record music and being able to erase it to then use it again. As far as backup is concerned, 650Mb is before compression, after compression you can get up to 1.3 Gb which is a better comparison to the Ditto drive 3.2 Gb (1.6Gb brfore compression).
How many of you have always wanted to copy CDs from friends to try out some software they bought? a JAzz drive is too expensive for that. The ability to re-record has a lot of price advantages, that were the main reason why people stayed away from recordable CD ROMS.

Here is a company PNCL Pinnacle Micro, that has made some major turnaround with its management, overheads, and products, and it is the maker of the cheapest mass media removable storage, the APEX 4.6 GB drive, which is not for home use, but for fast and reliable backups, or removable drives. this product got many excellent reviews in many magazines this year.
Pinnacle Micro has gone from $10 to $1 in the recent year, if it went any more down it would be given away for free.... The stock was showing some major volume and trend changes in th last 2 weeks. It is in an accumulation phase and is being collected by a select group. the way that I see it (and all the others that bought these last 2 weeks) it is a STEAL at the current prices with so many news about it, for the price of 1000 shares of IOM I can buy almost 15000 shares of PNCL, which could double in no time, if any additional news is released, even if it is in the form of a positive review of its new drive. This drive will definitely appeal to people that were considering a CDR, the price is very competitive, $ 649 for an internal MSRP, street price cold be substantially less. Also the media is only $25 MSRP, + I could use it a s a CDR and use $5 media.
They will sell, maybe not in the level of IOM, but enough to get the company out of a financial problem. They have a substantial R&D department, and will have many products coming in the future, that are going to sell to institutions very quickly.
I expect the stock to go up very sharply any day, and I do not see how one can go wrong at this price, look at the charts, there is a lot of accumulation. the risk is very low at this price level. Later , when it is at $5 or higher, then I will worry about it going back it $1, at these prices, the only thing taht worries me is if it is going to double ,tripple or more? I have been buned too many times by IOM, it is a stock that is being manipulated and run by the masses with no logic behind its price. although lately it came it its real value.

Another point to think about is that money will start flowing out of the Blue chip stocks to the small CAP stocks in the next round, they will take profits from INT , MSFT, CSCO COMS, and move some to stocks like PNCL, make a quick buck and buy back the stocks they sold on the next ralley and so on...
