Hey Snow... had an interesting discussion this afternoon with an analyst from DOE while I was having lunch here in DC. Apparently he got his start doing economic modeling of wind technology and he effectively agreed with many of the comments I've made. He also mentioned that many of those windmills you mentioned in the mid-west are only showing 17% availability due to erratic wind patterns. Remember... 13,000 windmills in California only account for 1.5% of the state's power generation. Whereas, 2 nuclear power plants, with two reactors each, account for 16% of the state's power. Like I've stated before... wind power has a place, but it will NEVER provide the same cost/benefit, or the same availability as nuclear power. Regards, Ron
