Now that it is known that Seagate, the leading disk maker, is feeling the heat of competition, I look for Keepering to finally take off. Here is why: Either Seagate tries to recapture market share by giving more storage for the same money at a cost of practically pennies per disk by using KM, OR the competition like Quantum or IBM,etc. decides to further THEIR market gains by offering KM. Either way, I believe that the final leverage to really get KM off to a flying course is here. I look for a big KM/MR joint development announcement with Ampex before the end of June. Remember that Bramson said at the Annual Meeting that test results for MR are now about the same as for TFI. Just my opinion.
