Jim, there will be more push behind the promotion of the SDMC format
than any prior form factor SanDisk has been involved with.

It would be great to see more articles like the one you posted.

BTW, I was surprised by the relative lack of enthusiasm that Donna Dubinsky,
the HAND CEO, exhibited for SD/MMC. Maybe Khan is correct in his assessment
that supporting the proprietary HAND Springboard modules will be a pain in
the butt for them if consumers get behind Palm and the SD/MMC format.
I still find lack of memory expansion to be a major drawback of the
Palm OS systems and have been quite happy with Microsoft's approach to with
unlimited flash expansion capability (via CF or MMC) and allowing users
to download software and content rather than be forced to purchase dedicated
modules. We will have to see how HAND's approach plays out.

FWIW, during the HAND c.c. they mentioned that new retail relationships like
Amazon.com, Walmart and Target were productive. No specifics about
percent of revenues attained through these channels specifically, but
generally positive remarks.

I suspect the record PALM and HAND quarters will be reflected in
the upcoming reports by others in the handheld electronics, MP3 and digital
camera sector with SNDK clearly being a principle in this domain.
