What was the name of the black woman Clinton nominated for post of AG during his firm term? He was forced to withdraw her name because of the outcry from Republicans. She is a professor at Harvard. I saw her on tv last night, but I don't recall much of the story other than she believed in a different standard for counting votes. The Republican outcry was so tremendous that I'm not sure that she ever made it to confirmation hearings to answer the questions, "whether she would uphold the law." Yet, Ashcroft will be confirmed because he was a member of the Old Boys Senate Club even though he refused to allow VOLUNTARY desegration in St. Louis and even refused to let the League of Women Voters register voters who were mainly black in the city.
