You mean Lani Guinier? She was nominated as Chief of the Civil Rights Division , not AG. She broke the precedent established by William Bradford Reynolds in the Reagan era that the Civil Rights chief must be first and foremost concerned with civil rights for white people. Clinton really wimped out on that one.

I imagine that Ashcroft and Co. will come up with someone like Reynolds for that post, too. They'll come up with somebody that will fully back the interests of the 9% of blacks who voted for W. The kind of person who will really speak for black American, unlike those evil civil rights leaders who represent the views of the other 91%.
